High End Zone is Southwest New Mexico’s premier Home Theater and High-End Audio dealer. We are your complete source for everything you need to complete your home theater, media room, whole house music and movie system, control systems, and more.

For years we have been trying to get a website going. It seems like it would be easy, but I always want to do more than I can do, and we have so much business that it is hard to keep up. So, this website is in Beta, it leaves a lot to be desired, but I just decided we had to put something up even if it’s not much, so here it is!

We’ve designed and installed systems ranging from a few thousand dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Whatever price level you are shopping at, we can save you money.

We sell and install the top brands in the industry for clients in New Mexico, Arizona, and around the world.

We take a different approach from many of our colleagues in the home theater industry. We are excited to participate in the global economy that exists today, and we delight in serving clients from all over the world.

We realize that most of our competitors operate in a limited geographical area and do their best to convince clients that only a local company can fully serve the client’s needs. We respectfully disagree.

As a global business situated in a relatively inexpensive area, we are uniquely positioned in our industry. While other stores pay huge rents and keep salesman standing around waiting for a customer to come through the door, our showroom and offices are on our family farm in Gila, New Mexico.

The town we live in has a population of 320 people. We pay no rent, and all of our staff live close by. We home-school our 7 year-old son and he participates in the business by helping test projectors, game systems, and audio gear and by bringing a child’s enthusiasm to the grown up toys that we sell. If I have a slow day, I go out and play football with him or we walk down to the river. We spend almost nothing on advertising, and much of our business comes from word of mouth, referrals and a few ads we run for clearance items on Ebay and Audiogon.

Some salesmen believe that wealthy clients should have to pay a lot for the things they buy. When they see a fancy house or a nice car, they raise the price. We do not. We recognize that whatever a person may be able to afford, he or she wants to get the best possible deal and to know that he’s not being taken advantage of.

The other day a client who was shopping a Runco system sent me a quote a local dealer had given him. The price for the Runco was retail price, not a discount like we offer, but it’s not unusual to see Runcos sold at retail. But what shocked me was the price for the Da-Lite screen. I called the client to ask if he had some special requirements for the screen that were maybe not stated in the quote. He said no, and why did I ask? Well, I asked because the price his local dealer was quoting was almost 3 and a half times retail! I was stunned. Charging 3.5 times the manufacturer’s retail price seems criminal to me.

At the High End Zone, we live by the Golden Rule - we treat customers as we ourselves want to be treated. That means we give honest advice, not advice that is self serving or designed just to sell more products. It means that we do our best to understand what our clients care most about and then give them as much of what they want as we can within their budgets. We don’t see it as our job to try to get customers to spend more money. I’ve been to the home theater design classes where they teach you that if a client asks for a $25,000 proposal you give him a $70,000 proposal. But I don’t do that, it’s dishonest. We let the clients set their own budget, and then we work hard to deliver the very best performance that can be had at that price. If you want to spend half a million bucks on your theater, we’ll get you a million dollar theater for half the price. If you want to do a great theater for $10,000, we’re excited to help you do that too.
